Hidden Valley Property Owners' Association
As summer ends and Fall begins, here are some of the interesting facts and activities that have taken place over the summer 2016.
There have been many sightings of bears, raccoons, deer, squirrels, turkeys and chipmunks. Many of the residents on the Valley Road Loop have spent many evenings awake listening to Coyotes. It does seem that there were few coyotes this summer than summer 2015.
The weather this summer has been perfect though very dry. We have had water restrictions in place since July and it seems like it is continuing through the fall. Let’s hope there is a good snow fall this winter. A good snowfall is needed to provide us water and also to refill the Pond. The pond was lowered in October in order to rebuild our Dam.
Many residents spent time on the beaches, playing tennis and enjoying each others company.
Lots of work is happening in the Valley. Second Beach is being rebuilt as a perched beach. This work will be completed by snow fall. The rebuilding of the Dam is underway and will also be completed by snow fall. The Brown Road entry into the pond has been closed off to boat trailers. This was due to erosion of the ponds bank. The entry still supports access for canoes and kayaks. This work was not completed by the association but many of us are pleased that the entry is closed.
There is investigation underway to improve First Beach. This is simply under investigation for now.
The HVPOA Picnic was a great success. Even though it was a rainy day, we had lots of food, games and community spirit. This is always a great annual event which allows us to enjoy time with our neighbors. The games for the children was a big hit regardless of the weather.
Our website has been migrated to a new look and feel. The website is being constantly updated with pictures of the rebuild of our Dam and Second Beach. Lots of information has been added to our website. Review the Website Update link for details pertaining to the changes to our website.
