BREAKING NEWS

In the past couple of days, the LBPVD Commissioners have been notified of two issues that impact the planned schedule for the reconstruction of the dam.

The first issue, and more serious of the two, is that the Army Corp of Engineers has chosen to review the State of New Hampshire’s approved reconstruction plan for the Lower Beech Pond dam.  Assuming this review process will result in their approval, the tentative schedule is as follows:  water draw down will begin on the 16th of September with dam reconstruction starting on the 26th of September.

The second issue pertains to a request by the Department of Environmental Services, per RSA 482:13 that the District hold a public informational meeting at least 15 days prior to any lowering of the water impounded by the dam. There will be no voting at this meeting—it is for information only.  This meeting will be held at the Tuftonboro Town House at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31st. This notice will be posted in Thursday’s edition of The Conway Daily Sun.  Minutes from this meeting will also be distributed via email for those who are unable to attend.

We regret any inconvenience this may cause the property owners of the LBPVD; however, these previously unknown issues are out of our control.  We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this cumbersome process facing continuing, unexpected issues and delays.  We will continue to keep you posted via email as we receive any updates or changes to the schedule.
